So, one of my all time favourite pts comes in today. Lovely lady of 88 years. Struck up a friendship years ago, when we discovered that we had both lived in Beaminster, Dorset.....

MissX - "I hope you didn`t think I was showing off when I booked my appointment with your receptionist."

Me - "Well, Is there something you need to tell me?"

Miss X -"I thought you might think I was going crackers, so I brought you a copy of this...."

Miss X duly pulls out a copy of a certificate of "Doctor of Philosophy in Human Uniqueness: twentyfirst Century perspectives from Theology, Science & Archaelogy" awarded July 2013.

Dr X - "It should have taken me 7 years, but I had to have a hip op so it took me nearly 8.."

Not many things suprise me, or inspire me as much as this incredible lady, I mean Doctor.

Lovely story. That's just made me go home from a hard day in clinic, tired, but happier with the world:good:

That was my reason for sharing. Too many negative experiences are reported nowadays, we should take more time to reflect on the good ones.

Incidently, I asked Dr X if she could relate her most satisfying and frustrating experiences during her research.

Her response; "I loved the science. The hard undeniable facts are more appealing than the fuzzy theories and was suprised that included aspects of archaelogy....The most frustrating part was using the laptop. It hurt my neck when I used it for more than 15 mins at a time..." This amazing lady has severe osteoporosis and subsequent kyphosis and struggles to look up for even short periods of time.
