Employing staff

    Hi guys
    I would really appreciate any advice anyone has on employing staff.
    I have a great little private practise business (13 years in the making)...mostly home visits (which is why I am so insanely busy), only one clinic day (not nursing homes). I also bulk bill under the EPC scheme with no gap payment. I never expected my business to get this busy and I am at the point where I am so stressed every day and am not coping well. It's pretty bad.
    So, I either need to turn people away or employ someone. I have put this off for ages because I hear most podiatrists don't enjoy domcillary work (I happen to prefer it), also it's not particularly challenging (I refer biomechanics patients so it's literally routine podiatry and diabetic assessments).
    If anyone has any info on how much pod's expect to be paid these days? When I graduated my boss paid me $34 per hour (in 2004). I'm guessing that's not happening today. Do people get paid a percent? And what about super (i was never paid super back in the day).
    Is it still sub contracting? Ugh!
    One thing I can provide any potential employee is great flexibility in the workplace- I thought that would perhaps be a drawcard to someone...it may really suit perhaps mothers wanting to work within school hours.
    I guess I feel a bit inadequate in my job offer as I cannot claim wonderful mentoring capabilities. I have another passion that I pursue very seriously in the arts so I don't actually want to be a biomechanics legend.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
