    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the regulations required regarding dust/fume extraction in Australia? We have a new orthotic lab currently being set up with a fume extraction bench and a desk top grinder. The room does not have any windows.

    Any help/advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Contact Worksafe, although your distributor of the equipment should be able to tell you.

We run a 1 micron filter for our dust extractors, cloth bags they come with are useless and can be a fire hazard.

You will need an external vent for the fume extractor and remember the fumes could be flammable, l doubt there is enough volume for what your doing, but to be safe, dont have it venting near a flame, e.g a pilot light of a gas hot water or heater unit.
