I'm a Chiropodist in Worcestershire, England. I work part time for a national company and I run my own home visit podiatrist service which I enjoy.

Perhaps the reason you don't have many followers is that you have only been a member for a week. Twitter is a world of its own, and there are various strategies to increasing your followers - and asking for them isn't one of them ;) My advice would be:

- Have your full name on there* - people want to interact with people not pseudonyms
- Start following people who have like minded interests as you - learn how to make effective use of 're-tweeting' and use it to your advantage (i.e. to gain more followers)
- Try and say something interesting - you have to give people a reason to want to follow you (and stay following you)

These things take time, so don't be too hard on yourself 8 days in.

*This applies to your website too - prospective patients want to know who you are.

Thanks for your advice... I need to get a professional photo done first, I aim to change the site around a bit too and set up a testimonials page maybe.
