    Greetings from 'Sunny Devon', UK.

I'm new to the forum and thought I would send a quick message:
What happened to our British Summer? As a kid I could remember those long 6 weeks summer holiday from school, out all day long in the sun. This year was pretty aweful for the kids - let along the adults.

I was so glad that my brother in Cyprus offered us to stay for two weeks, end of August! At least the family were able to top up our Vit D - Using factor 50+ of course.

During the heat of the day, I surfed the net and found this site - FANTASTIC !

As a 'mature' 2nd year student in Podiatry, I am looking forward to viewing lots of the discussions on Podiatry Arena. Life as a mature student is pretty hard, especially when I have 2 young children, run the household, and 'look after' my husband. I expect I will be burning that candle well into the forthcoming nights.

Hopefully I may get some moral support from here!

Now to get on with the dishes!!!

Hi Poddie & a very warm:welcome: to Podiatry Arena,

    Mature student eh?

    You are among friends. :D

I too was a 'late starter.' I am now galloping toward my mid life crisis but enjoying what I do along the way.

You will find lots of very valuable information on the site (worth checking threads in teaching & learning) ;)

I graduated from Huddersfield in 1998 & this site is a constant source of inspiration & education to us all I am sure.

    Happy posting. :drinks

    Many regards,

PS. What summer? Wasn't is cancelled?

    Welcome Poddie
As a former 'mature' student who also studied with 2 children (as did several in my cohort) the best advice I can give is get a dishwasher!!!! Saves your hands and the job of loading can be handed over to other half:morning:
Am now enjoying my new profession and hoping I can acheive what I want to before retirement age.:dizzy:
Happy studying and glad you found some good weather....
