l forgot to mention, this photo was taken whilst the client was seated, standing that toe goes even further forward
Studies like this remind me of a feature in Mens Health magazine which never fails to raise a smile from me.
It is called 'Ministry of the Bleeding Obvious' (thinking about it I may start a thread on them actually) and it summarises the months 'least suprising research'.
Here's 2 from the May edition:
People who are scared of going to the dentist suffer from more oral health problems. University of Otago, New Zealand

So, to push the issue, it was part of a wager, he didnt think he needed a size 13, "The last bloke fitted me with a size 10"
l explained that it was most likely the cause of the ulcer at the end of his big toe and the ulcer between his1st and 2nd, "Double or nothing for a new pair of shoes if l am wrong" a moment silence and he agreed, l didnt charge him double but he did buy two pair of shoes
l have only seen him twice since, once as a follow up a week later and again 3 months later as a shoe lace broke, "a 1 hour drive to get a shoe lace" all seemed to be heading in the right direction for him..a happy chappy now
