Hi good afternoon, I am Portuguese and this year I will attend the University ...

I wanted to know more about Podiatry / "Podiatry"as it is the job market in USA, pay...?

What is autonomy in their profession, can prescribe drugs, diagnostic tests (RX. ..) or certificates?
Usually work in hospitals?
You can do the surgery?

States vary a bit.
Most podiatrists graduating today (after undergraduate degree and 4 year podiatric medical school) complete a three year residency after which they are able to practice Podiatric medicine and surgery. Unlike MDs, our scope of practice is usually limited to the lower extremity, particularly surgically.

If you are in it for the money.... do not go into healthcare, get an MBA and start your own business!!!!
