    Hi, Good morning,

My son is walking from John o groats to lands end. He is 21, average height and weight. He is carrying a 20kg rucksack. No medical problems. He is on day 16, 55 miles out from Glasgow. He set off with brand new boots (I Know!).
He has (in 200 miles) worn down the lateral border of his right boot heel down to the air pocket.
He now has a huge blister on the medial border of his right heel.
    No aches or pains elsewhere.
His left boot and foot are fine.
He is in the middle of nowhere.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank Y'all.

PS. To clarify, the thrust of my question is not aimed at treating the blister or even the problems with the boots, no, my question was meant to tackle the reasons behind the blister. Clearly there is an inversion issue on heel strike throwing the calc into rapid eversion and so the blister. How then given the cicumstances of where he is -middle of nowhere- with no podiatry insight or equipment, do I/we/he slow down this process?
    Thanks again.

...also does anybody out there know of any Podiatrists in or around the A82 leading south to Glasgow?
