Hi there. A 5 year old, developmentally delayed boy presents with bilateral flexible met adductus, no evidence of hip, femur or tibia concerns. He is in foster care and records show that as a baby he had serial casting to treat the met adductus. The new foster mum is concerned about his tripping and clumsyness. She took him to a paediatric physiotherapist who is investigating more serial casting. Is there any evidence to support this at 5 years of age? I am looking at orthoses with met adductus plates with a deep heel cup to manage the symptoms. Any thoughts?
