    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the process of Australian qualified podiatrists working in Canada. Can we work there? If so what is the process to register?

    Thankyou!

you could work in Saskatewan, manitoba, ontario, quebec,if you speak french, nova scotia, prince edward islans and Nova Scotia

Saskatewan, manitoba, ontario, quebec,if you speak french, you would need to contact the local college of podiatrists/chiropodis for there entry requirements. You would not be able to work in Alberta or Vancouver. You require a USA DOM to work there.

if you wish to work in Ontario, the best thing to do is to contact the College of Chiropodist. this is the governing board for all Chiropodist and Podiatrist in Ont.o They will fill you in on the requirement to employment and what if any exams you need to sit.
their web site is www.cocoo.on.ca. Alternatively you could contact the Canadian Federation of Podiatric medicine. This is a coast to coast org. that represents all chiropodist and podiatrist. we have members that could assist you and tell you exactly whom to speak to about coming to canada.

It is likely that you could practice in Manitoba, see: www.copom.mb.ca.

details regarding licensure to practice are on the website.

You would need to look at relevant visas etc on the Canadian immigration dept website: www.cic.gc.ca

but essentially you would either need a fixed term work permit (up to 3 years) which would be tied to a particular job. or you would need to have a permanent residence visa you will find out all the details on the site quoted above.
