Morton´s foot is not the same foot aberration as Rothbarts foot. The insoles used to treat these two-foot types are different and not interchangeable.

A recent publication using an extension underneath the first metatarsal was investigated regarding its impact on gait parameters. The extension pad had a vertical rise of 3mm (if my memory is correct) but did no medial to lateral slope.

The medial column insoles used to treat Rothbarts Foot have both a vertical rise and a medial to lateral slope (extending proximally to the talar head).

Morton´s pads (placed under the hallux and 1st metatarsal head) share some similarities to RFS insoles, but also function differently that RFS insoles.
