I have a 54 year old lady presented with onychocryptosis and mosaic warts around medial and lateral sulcus of right 1st toe.

Underwent partial nail avulsion(PNA) recently to removed medial nail right by my colleague. She developed mosaic warts after surgery. Wound on right medial is not healed.

Does anyone have any thoughts on treatment process and further management?

 

depressed immune system? What meds is she on? Menopause can be an immune altering condition. Do keep us informed. Check her hands, any vesicles?

The lady has knee osteoarthritis, not on medications. 2 years ago, she went to see vascular for her arm which complained " thrill" feeling on her arm for 3 to 4 months. She went for arterial duplex scan. reported results normal. She does have gastroesophageal reflux but she is on short term omeprazole treatment. There is no significant vesicles seen on her hand.

Currently, she is treated using conservative management for her mosaic warts through sharp debridement and silver nitrate.

I am still puzzled on her cause of mosaic warts after PNA.

 

possibly cross infection from somewhere - open wound and all that - did she follow her post op protocol?

 

Compromised immune system can be an answer.Are you sure they are warts?A biopsy of them will give you an answer.
