    Hi all,

Has anyone completed the part-time degree at Huddersfield uni? I am very interested in pursing a podiatry degree but am finding it difficult to see how I can work and study at the same time. I completely understand the need for practical training, in fact this is the best way that I learn, but would find it impossible to work at the same time.

What is the competition like for degree courses in the UK?

Any help would be gratefully received :dizzy:

    Hi Jo,

I have not completed the podiatry degree at Huddersfield but am currently in the process of doing so, having just finished my first yr although through the full time route. To answer your question the best thing you could is to contact the university; and possibly enquire about the part time timetable for the previous yr as the new timetable will be subject to change but atleast you will have an idea of the amount of hours you will be required to spend at the university. I know other students on the part time route have part time jobs but obviously this depends on your circumstances.
There is strong competition for places and the course wether full or part time is challenging. Experience from volounteer work etc with a podiatrist or foot care assistant would be extremely helpfull, but not essential as shadowing or work experience can be hard to find and the university is fully aware of this, although, work experience with a podiatrist or FCA is highly recommended.
Hope this helps and if you require anymore information do not hesitate to contact me as i understand how daunting the process of applying to university can be.

    Adam.
