No the usual promotion at all
It would seem, reading between the lines, that the comapny Brian set up to peddle his postural controll insoles has sort of gone its own way and has fallen out with its Dad.
Brian is insisting that you must be trained by the International Academy of Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy (IARPT) :D To safely use PCI's. The company, GRD, are obviously more interested in mass marketing them. We have a conflict.
Some highlights...
they even provided the documents
But then the cracks start to show...
So having set up the company and seen it flogging them off at 49.95 to any tom dick or harriet, he is now trying to suggest that only people trained by him should sell these insole. Even to the point of claiming adverse outcomes if used otherwise.
Can the difference between a 3mm and a 6mm 1st met shaft pad be that great?! Personnally I doubt it. I offer that since the insoles only come in two basic flavours that there is a limit (or possibly limitus, arf arf) to how much of an adverse reaction one can cause. But I digress.
So of course they deny any risk (at they would to sell more insoles). Whereas Brian is emphasising the risk if not trained by him personnally (as HE would to sell more courses).
I have questions.
So, between the lines, Brian decides he can make a mint selling the IARPT courses. He's taken the costs of the course off the website now, but I seem to remember that even the level one cost something in 4 figures. The DVD prep course costs E375 so it ain't going to be cheap. But then the company he set up does not want to sell to a small number of clinicians who have done the course, they want to sell mass market. Which sort of undermines the value of the courses. So what's a professor to do? Well, for starters he can report lots of adverse outcomes from "untrained" users (people who were not trained by him at huge profit to him). He can then perpetrate these rumours so that people who like the idea of the devices feel they can ONLY get those results by shelling out to him.
In essence, he sold the concept to the company, and now he's trying to sell it again via the courses, while they are trying to sell the insoles to everyone, not just people who also bought the course.
The company, clearly not best pleased by this, punt out a webpage in denial of it. Because THEIR vested interest is in trying to suggest that there are NO risks with these insoles, that they are completely safe.
What a tangled web we weave...
