For the last 25 years I have used a quality tripod adapted by a local engineer for me with a stainless steel plate with a slight upward curve .I had this covered electrostatically with a silvery(ish) colour paint. I used it before they were so easily available from the suppliers. No wheels , no pad but functionally the same operation.I have a 30 cm high plastic stool , the tripod goes into the upside down stool for easy carrying with bagged instruments etc .
Visiting case in the other hand .Well balanced for moving around.
I have used it for every domicilliary / residential home visit. I have also used it in my surgery where the patient cannot get out of their chair.
Even the biggest legs suffering from oedema etc has been cared for . I always use the patients own towels over the top of the plinth against cross contamination pt to pt.
The idea is not new but maybe not covered with patents.
I am sure that many have similar devices.
    Regards
    Geoff

No idea, but if you look at the patent, they got one. There is nothing particular unique about the design that I can see.
