Hi all. I have become increasingly intrested in pod surgery within the past 3 years and would like to find out more information on the training process. I am aware of the Australian podiatric surgeons website but have found that it dose not list many establishments when one can commence the masters. Would appreciate any info? I live in Melbourne so would be looking for a course in that area.

    Thanks

Hi and thank you Paul. Yes did check out the above page but does not say where you can enrol onto approved master courses? I am hoping there are courses available within the Melbourne area as would like to maintain employment whilst studiying should I decide to enrol.

I Am pretty sure UniSA via correspondence or in person is the major coursework way to go. Any Masters via research (and possibly some supplemental courses) should be sufficient and I would imagine LaTrobe or a local Melbourne Uni could help out if that was the path you chose.

Have you filled out the application on the page above and sent it to the college - getting into Post Grad study would be one thing, getting a residency position may be more difficult. I am sure someone from the College would get back to you with the best advice.

Also have you checked out the UWA Post Grad Surgery Program? Would mean relocating to WA but may be worth it depending on your needs?

    Good luck with it.

Hi Paul. thanks for your advice. I have only recently emigrated to Aus from the UK within the past 12 months so am still at the early stages. But have no ties so relocation would not be a problem I will contact LaTrobe and get some advice. I didnt thin I could apply to the college until after I had completed a masters.

    Once again many thanks.

I am sure if you sent them a friendly email the College would be happy to advise.

Also here is the UWA webpage for Post Grad studies

    Cheers,

    Paul
