But what exactly do you mean?

the axis (bundle of ) is the imaginary point which represents, where forces are equal and opposite during motion.

kevin has posted many of his pdfs on STJ axis have you read those?

The directions there are pretty clear. There are a couple of things that I might add to the paper, but reading the paper will give you the basics.

I built it. They were bits I had lying around in my "mad scientists lab". I changed the connecting rods twixt the anterior and posterior pointer to square section in the mk 2 to avoid rotation between marker sets.

 

Simon built a few of them, but I don't have one any more. For those that are interested, here is the original drawing I sent to Simon when we were first discussing the idea of a STJ axis locator.

I had a working prototype up and running the same day Kevin sent this sketch to me. I'd been trying to work out the relationship between GRF at the forefoot and the STJ axis during the propulsive phase of gait. I'd built a jig to put cadavers in which involved me drilling through the metarsal heads with a rod to simulate "low" and "high" gear propulsion. Kevin and I had been talking about this when he offered up this design. Most of the bits came from a local hardware store. The black sections holding the connecting rods together came out of a compass set (I had to buy 4 of the sets to get enough- at about £20 a piece!). Like Kevin, I no longer own one. On the upside, I'll never need to buy another compass in my life @circlesrus

I would like to know if exist a tutorial about how to determinate the plantar location of STJA.

I read every articoles you suggest me but I'm not sure to do this in the right way..
