    Hi,

Im looking at starting my own practice and I was thinking of getting a second hand chair....

Anyone know of good sites or people that want to sell (will pay shipping)?

Also do you think its wise to buy a used chair? (many problems etc?)

    Hi Michael.Banks,

The UK and Aus are different and you need to do your homework. There are a lot of places out there that have "Podiatry" chairs but you will become disillusioned with them quickly, ie too slow to lift because of cheap and slow motors, unable to lift the heavier patients, total height inadequate, footprint too big, etc. There are a few places that have good 2nd hand equipment (try AK Surgical 03 94346681. I have no pecuniary interest here, just a history as a satisfied customer). Try your association classifieds as well.

cant ship to australia would be prohibitley expensive more than the cost of a new one ie when i was in states i could have purchased apush chair for my nieces for 100 quid uk cost to ship back 400 us dollars a no brainer.

Honestly I dont mind paying $400 or $500 US dollars for shipping so yeah.... Im interested?

  10. Michael heres a tip,

ring all medical supply places that sell equipment that your looking for, say to them that you are starting out and want to buy 2nd hand stuff like patient chair etc. they may have stock or if another customer wants to up grade them may pass on your details.

Mate and a ute and some $ and your home free. Paying $400- $500 to get a chair shipped from Europe to Oz is a little extreme plus all the import/export issues.

Where if you spend some time you may get all you need for $400-$500.

If your new maybe Rebecca or Ian North maybe able help with suppliers in Perth, worth a shot.

    Anyway Goodluck

dear mike that was a pushchair from usa unfortunatley the beautiful aus is 12000 miles away it will cost more than the price of a 3 section couch just to ship it mr weber gives you very good advice look local and good luck

  12. Shipping costs to Aus from the UK will be substantially more than AU$400-500. The cheapest sea freight to South Africa from the UK is US$1,639 shipping costs plus container hire for the journey - circa. UK£550 - £600.
