My wife has been suffering from a burning and servere pain in the top of her feet and ankles, sometimes going up her leg as far as the knee for about 8 months. Nothing proceeded the start of the symtoms. It started out as just a tingling running down her left leg. Than it progressed down to her left foot and became very painful.
