Hi everyone

I have only had to carry out nail surgery on one patient whose sickle cell status was known. I was however, wondering if clinicians routinely request a sickle cell test from GPs for patients at risk of sickle cell disease (such as patients from African or Carribean origin) and their family history or sickle cell staus is unknown or even if they state that there is no family history of it.
