My son is 8 & a big boy - almost 150cm & tipping 50kg's. He has just worn out a good pair of ASICS runners in just under 5 months, size 7. The main issue has been the excessive lateral heel wear & general lateral collapse of the upper which I believe has caused some lateral ankle soreness. He has a moderately deviated STJ axis & has been wearing a pair of orthoses to reduce the excessive STJ moments.

Can anyone recommend a sneaker that perhaps offers a more durable sole or other features to support his foot better. The sole of a cross trainer would be more durable than a running shoe wouldn't it? Any other suggestions. I'm then also questioning my orthosis prescription but I want to buy him a new pair of sneakers tomorrow.
Thanks.
