I recall speaking at a conference many years ago that had a well known shoe museum in town, so I went to visit. At the conference I got into a conversation with a podiatric "surgeon" who thought it was somewhat offensive that podiatrists should be interested in the history of shoes. He likened it to a brain surgeon being interested in the history of hats :dizzy:

On a somewhat related topic there is a fab boot called Fetish by an imminant fashion historian and she makes reference to some US podiatrists who are foot fetishists. Apparently they wear diapers to prevent spillage when confronted with sexy feet. Unfortuantely Valerie Steele does not give a reference to this phenomenon and when I briefly met her at a fashion conference in Brisbane a few year ago I have to admit to being too frightened to ask her for more details (just in case).

Curiouser and curiouser as Alice would say.

    cheers
