    Can we bill for a suture removal on a patient that had surgery or is that included in the "global fee" ? If a medical assistant takes out the sutures, can we bill for that?

    Depends on the country and the insurer.....

    if you were a patient, would you think it was appropriate to bill for suture removal?

    The majority of private medical insurance companies in the UK consider this part of the treatment, although paradoxically, they do pay if a nurse is instructed to remove sutures. They then pay a small fee for a review or follow up appointment.
