The Foot to Cerebellum Link. A New Paradigm in Postural Mechanics

    By and large global postural mechanics has been based on Root´s ground breaking research in the 1950s and 1960s. It is a biomechanical model based on architectural principles. Simply put, where the foot goes, so goes the entire postural skeletal framework.

    In 2009 I introduced an alternative postural model based on the foot to cerebellum connection. It is a neurophysiological model. The foot generates proprioceptive signals that are relayed to the cerebellum. The cerebellum interprets these signals and makes the appropriate global postural adjustments.

    I have published several papers demonstrating skeletal deformations, foot to sphenoid, all based on this neurophysiological model.

    To date, no other research teams have investigated my proposed paradigm. However, I believe this will change in the near future.

    I just read an interesting scientific report by Descamps et al that corroborate my foot to brain model. However, it is to be noted that their model reports a foot to brain connection in a static state. My model presents a foot to cerebellum connection in both a static and a dynamic state.

    Global Postural distortions (e.g., BioImplosion), resulting from either Rothbarts foot or the PreClinical Clubfoot deformity, can not only result in chronic musculoskeletal pain, it can also impact visceral functions. For example, I have linked:
    1. Anterior rotation of the pelvis to intractable infertility and irritable bowel syndrome (symptoms similar to Crohns disease)
    2. Protraction of the chest to cardiac arrhythmias and incalcitrant emphysema
    3. Forward head position to idiopathic headaches, malocclusions and deviant mentation
    4. BioImplosion (resulting in soft tissue compression) to peripheral neuropathies
    And the list goes on and on.
