Myself and three other of my colleagues have a golden opportunity to promote Podiatry at a large sports medicine congress in Cape Town. In that we have been given a 1 hour slot to do a presentation and workshop on podiatry. The theme of the congress is The prevention of injury and protection of the athlete.
Podiatry falls slap into that theme, BUT despite some database searching I cant find literature on some specific areas.
    Namely
    1) orthotics curing injury (this we can get)
    2) orthotics preventing injury (this is hazy)
    3) orthotics increasing performance (this is even more hazy).

I would really appreciate it if anyone can guide me with a few references that you are aware of that show orthotics ability to prevent injury and increase performance.

    Many thanks
