    Hi There

I would appreciate a professional opinion with regards to barefoot shoes such as those sold by Vivo Barefoot (http://www.vivobarefoot.com/eu/)?
    Thanks a lot!

They are a class action law suit waiting to happen. It will be easy for anyone to win if they want to pursue it. They were less than truthful about the injury risk. Both Vibram and Adidas are facing class actions over the claims they made for their minimalist shoes and they were less explicit than Vivobarefoot were!

...and before anyone says anything, the traditional running shoe companies do not make injury or health benefit claims for their shoes, so that is why they are not facing such actions.

There are plenty of opinions on the whole barefoot running in these threads

I have to tell you, I am trialing these out as we speak. I bought a pair heavily reduced. They generally go against every principal that I have regarding shoes, but I thought I would give them a go.
I have now worn them for 2 weeks, solidly, and they are very comfortable. I havent had any pain at all.
The only people I would recommend them for would be for those patients who refuse to wear shoes at home, especially the diabetics. The do offer protection of the foot, but that seems to be about it.
I definitely could not run in them!!

Barefoot is the state of not wearing any footwear (source: Wiki)

A shoe is an item of footwear (source: Wiki)

    End of.
