I've been interested in Clarks Wave walk shoes (they have a mild rocker bottom) for a while now, used for the management of Hallux limitus and associated hallux lesions. Video below:

I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these shoes - I've found patients are more receptive to the idea of wearing a Clarks rocker bottom than other brands - possibly due to just brand awareness .
But, I was in Clarks today and there was great variability between the stiffness of soles. Some also had that frontal plane curvature of the forefoot sole - much like this
My question is - how much of an issue will that frontal plane curve affect balance in elderly patients? Is this a shoe not to advise to older or neuropathic patients?
My other question is - the shoes are less stiff in the forefoot than other rocker type shoes I've seen - how much will reduced stiffness undermine the effect of the shoe on limiting 1st MTJ motion?
Many thanks for any advise!
