I've had a few drills so far and I just find that for the hefty pricetag, the engineering and craftsmanship doesn't cut it.

The latest Berchtold I use is expectedly the best thus far - but even then with the Moore's disc it still catches at times and rotation is interrupted. Most of the previous issues of the handpiece was addressed and it is however, okay.

The model just before the current one had the most primitive design and build quality - constantly comes loose, and the soldering within the circuit looks amateurish (came loose and circuit was therefore broken). Broken down twice and is just not user friendly. Might've just been a lemon...

Am I unlucky on this matter? I hope to hear from any of you who have had similar issues if god forbid....none at all!

    Hi Tin,

My 1st drill lasted 12 years. It went for an annual service & worked without problems until last year when it started throwing all the electric off in clinic. Sent if for a service & it was pronounced dead. (RIP Hadewe). :boohoo:

I bought a similar model from DLT & Sandy in Huddersfield. (They also do testing & repair) Really helpful people.

    No problems now.

    Kind regards,

    Mandy.

Don't get me started on drills!!!

One on my drills is the DBS Podospray Gold. To date it has been sent back 4 times for repairs in under 3 years.
