Can anyone tell me the most effective treatments for Patella Tendonitis.

I have found Quadricepts streching, and the wearing of flat bottomed shoes with a cushioned heel to be helpful, but i am finding it difficult to resolve this problem.
  2. Peter think about the mechanical loads on the patella tendo and how you might reduce them. Maybe also speak to a Sports physio get some general rehab treatment for patella tendon related problems.

Also maybe this paper might help although oldish.

Thanks for the information Michael, and Ian.

The patient has vascular problems in his lower leg, and sometimes the edema goes all the way up to the tibial insertion of the patella tendon which seems to be the focal point of the injury. He is wearing a compression stocking now. I am wondering if the edema is slowing or stopping the healing process.
