This year its foot health month.

The focus is on walking being the best medicine.
So there are walking plans you can print and give out for clients to write walking goals. There is also a foot health quiz for clients to complete - the results to be submitted to the APodA at the end of the month to show the percentage of common foot complications seen/treated.
There is also extra info re the benfits of walking on physical health and mental health.

Hope that brief summation has not totally confused you.
The link with the forms, etc is:

    Cheers

Ever thought of skipping say 100 plus each day? Keeps you even fitter.

Excellent but what about 100 plus skips (skipping) each day? An excellent exercise -not to mention swimming.

They are both excellent forms of exercise, but walking requires no special equipment, people of all ages and levels of fitness can participate, it is not an off-putting thought to many who dread gyms/cozzies/wobbling bellies when exercising/etc.
It can be incorporated into daily life with minimal effort, it costs nothing and can be done socially
eg, for those with severe limitations- walk up and down passage during advertising breaks on TV or walking to letter box twice a day
those with relatively healthy lifestyles -walking to work each day or a 5-10km walk on the weekend.

So if people are able to participate in more advanced forms of exercise, this can be encouraged, but walking is generic with no socio-economic or age/fitness barriers.
