A good friend who had a bed ridden family member called to let me know that heel shields would be a good item for the bed ridden suffering from pressure sores on their heels. Since using the heel shield would prevent the heel from touching the bed linens, heel shields would help heal the pressure sores on the heel.

As a daily therapy for a bed ridden patient without heel pressure sores, heel shields could help prevent heel pressure sores.

Here is a picture of the heel shield placed on the heel to help with heel sores. As you can see the heel doesn't come in contact with the heel shield - keeping the heel from touching the floor or in the case of the bed ridden from touching the bedding.

Since this product was really created for a different use and we are trying to introduce the product to help protect and heal pressure sores on the heel, we are offering samples to hospitals and facilities that have bed ridden patients who could benefit from offering this product to their patients.

Please contact me at info@theheelshield.com if you are interested.
