hi, question re: imaging modalities

Firstly hello everyone.

As a student, I'm exploring different modalities of imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of various foot/ankle pathologies.

I have very little prior knowledge of imaging and am hoping to broaden my understanding, so apologies for the simple nature of my questions, just trying to get a feel for what's out there.

I was wondering: what are the most commonly used modalities of imaging in podiatry practice? I've never met anyone who used CT scans before (apart from head injuries in A+E) so do people frequently use this in podiatry in UK? Or is it mostly MRIs and x-rays?

Again apologies for my ignorance, just exploring what goes on in the real world (as opposed to text book podiatry).

I would imagine very few podiatrists in the UK are using either CT or MRI. My guess would be that ultrasound and Xray are the most common imaging modalities used due to cost and ease of access.
