Other than using Amitriptyline/Gabapentin and well controlled Blood/Glucose levels. Can anyone recommend any other treatments for neuropathic pain?

A few things may help here:
1.Try topical capsaicin.it is a counterirritant that depletes substance P(this is what can cause the pain)
2.There are new orals for pain.Cymbalta is an antidepressant type med which is taken once daily.BE CAREFUL WITH THIS IF PATIENT HAS LIVER TROUBLE.
3.Anodyne therapy is said to work.It increases blood flow to the area.
4.AFG stablizers can be worn at night.Same principle...increase blood flow to area.
5.You can even refer recalcitrant cases to doctors-i.e Dr.Lee Dellon-who will do a tarsal tunnel decompression. This is somewhat controversial as some docs feel that diabetic neuropathy is an extreme case of tarsal tunnel syndrome.
