    Hi there!

I'm Nicole, I'm a 4th year pod hoping to graduate in June. Recently completed a placement in Hong Kong and absolutely loved it. The only problem is the languages, I don't have the time to learn cantonese and mandarin so I would really love to get work out in Singapore once qualified.
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions?
    Thanks
    Nic

:welcome: Hope you enjoy your stay.

There is a very active Podiatry Association in Singapore - contact them when you ready to look for work.

    Hey Nicole,

I did a placement in Singapore as a final year student with a view to moving out there - I eventually decided against it as the wages were not too great and the holidays were shocking - 2 weeks a year - having said that it's a very nice place - i was only there a week but everyone was very friendly and the social life was good but I'd recommend visiting and doing a placement there first -As Singapore is a tiny place. The places I worked at were pretty quiet too. Not sure whether it would hold my interest for long.

If you like Hong Kong though I wouldn't give up as you can often arrange jobs that would give you a translator -and their working language is English anyway -In Singapore they had reception staff acting as translators as they have chinese (various) and Malay clients who don't speak english so if it's only the language that is holding you back I'd think again (I grant you though manderin is very difficult to learn though-personal experience)

Good luck whatever you decide to do

    Sarah
