    Hi all..

Just a quick question really..

I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I'm looking for UK based orthoses manufacture companies, Just started with some private work and I would like to get a casted insole made up for a client.

Can anyone recommend any to me?? I've looked at RX Labs and Firefly/pegasus, but thought I'd just air the question anyway..

Also, any one have any idea how much RX charge, I'm looking for EVA with a lunarsoft type cover.

    Many thanks

    Hi!

I use Allied OSI Labs in the USA. They have an office in Maidenhead UK where I post the cast to. The turn around time is ~3 weeks. It costs me ~£90 per prescription. I recently had an adjustment done. It cost me £25. I have used them a few times now and I am very happy. I've not used any UK labs though. You can tell them what you want and they make it. Just a thought...

    Cheers,

    Robin.

    Hi

Langer, Everflex are two UK based companies.

I made my own devices for 10 years I stopped doing so and have used Allied OSI for two years. It is a product that works for me and my pts. To date I have found them a very reliable company who pay attention to detail. Elizabeth Foxcroft heads up the admin side in Maidenhead.

    Hi Sam,

I use Firefly and cant speak highly enough of them. Easy to use prescription forms, fantastic professional looking devices and always on the end of the phone to help with/discuss any problems. I'm sure if you gave Martin McGeough a call he would happily have a chat with you about things, he's an incredibly knowledgable and pleasant chap

I work for Salts Techstep in Birmingham as Techinical Support Podiatrist. We manufacture CAD/CAM EVA, Polyprop and PU insoles and don't usually charge for adjustments.
We also have a 'breaking in period' for new customers where we will re-make any devices prescribed incorrectly by the practitioner in the first 3 months.

We offer a 7 day turn around and a pair of EVA pair £75 plus Vat and delv.. PP are £70 plus etc

Hope this helps and I am not too guilty of self publicizing our company.

    Phil
