I couldnt agree more. EPC is simply making what would be a normal referral process into a costly taxpayer subsidised scheme. It certainly is a double standard when the same process is not applied to 'specialist' referrals from GPs.
Finally the light is starting to shine through the cracks.
We all know this has been a massive waste of time in terms of paperwork - not to mention the extremely tedious and pathetic way that Medicare expect their claim receipts from patients to be written (have they even heard of practice management software???)
Lets take it even one step further - why not just ADD all of healthcare to the Medicare benefits schedule?
Oh, what about the cost?
Well I think Roxon will clearly tell you that it would probably cost the government more NOT to have all of health supported either partially or fully by medicare - and she would be right.
One thing I will say about Roxon is she makes sense in everything she does, and that is probably the greatest compliment a politician could get from a member of the general public.
