    Hi

Can anyone advise me on the requirements for a Podiatry Assistant to work in Australia?

I understand have so far been able to find two courses that include Podiatry
    - Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance[HLT42507]
    - one day training course at Mayfield education - http://www.mayfield.edu.au/html/ahafc.html

I have read in the guidelines that the certificate IV is the most desirable but I was wondering if the course held at Mayfield would be sufficient? Can anyone advise me that has or is working with a Podiatry assistant.

    Thanks for your help.

    Linda,

Currently very few Podiatry Assistant Positions in Melbourne, and they have a mix of qualifications, but a lot are current podiatry students, others have received on the job training, some ex ENs
There is no requirement for any formal qualification
The Podiatry Board of Australia Website has some information on it regarding qualifications of Pod Assistants.

In Victoria, if you have the Cert IV, you are paid at a higher grade of Allied Health Assistant than if you don't (if working in a public sector position)
