    Hello everybody :)

Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Years.

    Quick Question

Does anybody have an ideal setup they use for podiatric home visits/treatments??

I've seen one thread that had some ideas for equipment for podiatrist to sit on (eg a collapsible camping chair) and to put the patients foot on (eg. An adjustable tripod stand) but just checking if there's any other equipment fellow pods are using to keep their lower and upper back aligned.

I find I am bending down over the patients foot too much and would benefit from having the patients foot at the same height as my hands/eye level.

    Thanks and best wishes,

I have said this before - but received much negativity: why are you home visiting at all? It is, from a patient care perspective, not good for the patient - and is certainly not good from an occupational health and safety issue for the practitioner. Surely it is far better that patients visit you in your surgery. Excuses like ill-health, lack of transport etc are largely spurious. I except that once in a while - a home visit might be essential, but as a routine strategy, it is ultimately self defeating.

Thanks for the reply Rob, I agree with your stance on home visits, they certainly have numerous constraints and the structural integrity of many podiatrists/community nurses would be maintained if these home visits didn't exist!
My current position Within a private clinic requires that I partake in home visits once a week, so as I am unable to eliminate the risks involved with these home visits, I am going to use some engineering/equipment variations to help improve the

So you've never been involved in home visits Rob?

    All the best,
