If, like me, you have mild obsessive compulsive disorder then you may find that even if you do find free versions online which are not bound by copyright laws, that they dont give you exactly what you want/need.

In the end I did my own - all you need is a digital camera, a spare weekend and a mate who will do some modelling in exchange for a bucket of KFC...

When I was looking a while back I went with something along the lines of 'rehab exercises' or variations on that - but do the search in google images rather than google.

As I say alot of them are probably copyrighted but gives you some ideas

    Hi Poppet

I could be a friend - for a bucket of KFC!
I agree with Ian- the net has much but copyright and the like and not having exactly what I want.................
I too will be bribing my wife - will offer to do the dishes for a week, and make my own.

    Cheers Ian.

    Good luck

I used 'The concise book of muscles ' (Chris Jarmey; available from Amazon), as a prompt. Great revision book and gives exercises / stretches, as well as muscle details for all muscles. Like Ian suggested I enlisted my teenage son, except I gave a dozen bottles of Corona (no, silly, not during the photo shoot).

I would assume we are discussing lower extremity exercises Poppet? I have acquired some over the years that are pertinent to podiatry and what is probably commonly seen by DPM's routinely. I am actually compiling a book of handouts (mostly ghastly core and spinal torture ) which includes some LE exercises

If you are more specific I may be able to locate some in Word format that you could adapt to your own practice. Let me know.

    regards,

Greetings! I'm a Pilates teacher who spends time helping my clients with foot fitness exercises. I've got two free downloads on my site - "How to Tie Your Tennies" and "Five Foot Strengthening Exercises" But at the moment these are text and not photo PDF's. However-if they are helpful, please feel free to pass the info along. If there are specific exercises you like to recommend and see on a handout - I might be able to help you out - if I know exactly what you are hoping to have on a handout. I normally refer my clients to get a copy of the book Fantastic Feet, since so many of the homework exercises I teach are in this resource with photos. Know there are rules about what can be posted here... hoping I haven't overstepped any boundaries with this post. Let me know if I can assist in creating something - or the info here is helpful!

Have you tried a book called "Biomecánica del aparato locomotor aplicada al acondicionamiento muscular" (4rth edition) written by S.Fucci, M.Benigni & V.Fornasari?
It explains in an easy way, how to perform muscles at home. It has a lot of pictures to actually print them and show your patient how to do them.
Actually is design for physical therapist, but that's not a problem, it can be perfectly understandable. The only "problem" is that is written in spanish, but also is not difficult, as its very easy to read. (Lot of pictures)
    Hope i have helped you!

    David,

Would you have any handouts on strengthening foot and ankle muscles?

Just looking for these after reading the thread 'Podiatry involvement in falls prevention'

P.S. Obama had a great day over here today!:drinks

    Hello Elizabeth,

I would think for a podiatry practice that simple stretches/exercises for plantar fasciitis (acute) and more progressive foot strengthening would about cover it, am I corrrect? I use Thera-Band® (and similar elastic bands) quite a bit for home exercise. They have a simple handout you can print for patients:
    http://www.thera-band.com/instructions.php

For more advanced LE exercises I'll have to see what I have for you.

Good to hear POTUS is making the rounds abroad, who knew he was Irish? ;)
