    Hi all

I have recently tossed around the idea of adding a day or two a week within a medical centre just to break up the monotony of many home visits.
I was wondering as to the type of pod chairs others were using within this setting, that are obviously easy to take with me at the end of the day. If using the physio/massage tables is there the option to have the patient sitting for your basic nail cutting etc?

I'm interested as to how everyone sets up in a 'temporary' or shared setting.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I rent 2 separate rooms at different locations. One I was in on the inception and asked for and got a Plinth which is used by a physio and also by an acupuncturist.

The other room is at a large GP surgery. They had supplied a large (and very long) 2 piece couch for use by all others renting the room. My patients feet didn't even come near the bottom of the bed so I asked permission to buy a Plinth and I store it away in the corner of the room when it isn't in use. It's an expensive bit of kit but tax deductable and allows you to do the job properly and in comfort for you and the patient.

If it looks and feels good and works then it must increase your air of professionalism rather than sitting them in a sun chair/recliner I think.

If you want a chair that would cover your needs try LaFuma chairs. They recline and are often used by reflexologists and others.

    Best wishes
    Nick

LaFuma chairs ROCK! (also called Zuma chairs, that may be the chinese knock off) I have 2, got for $9 each in an op shop, new knock offs are$69 in Kmart. La vraie chose de France are now making a heavy duty for practitioners model, some $395.oo last I saw. My reflexology friends have them, I am using them for giving manicures and pedicures.
