    Hi there,

I am currently a Podiatry resident in Portland, OR, U.S.A. I will be graduating in June 2024 and am currently looking for job opportunities in Portugal. My training includes inpatient management of infection/source control, diabetic foot care, limb preservation and reconstruction, elective forefoot and rearfoot pathology including Charcot reconstruction and Total Ankle Replacements, a range of trauma at a level 1 trauma center, and static/gradual deformity correction.

    My questions:
    - Is it possible to practice Podiatry in Portugal as an English-only speaker?
    - What are the requirements for me to practice Podiatry in Portugal? Is there a special examination/certification I must complete? Or are my U.S.A. credentials and board examinations enough?
    - Are there resources I can use to find open Podiatry positions in Portugal?

    Thank you,
    Neenah

Neenah, I spoke to a British podiatrist at the beginning of this year. He works in the Algarve and is hoping to sell his practice since he is hoping to return to the UK. He converses to his patient's in English. I had initially expressed an interest, but I am now relocating to Spain instead. If you want to contact him, I can reach out to him to ask if he's happy for me to pass on his details (I'm sure it will be okay).
