HI there,

Does anyone know where someone can get some specialised footwear in Brisbane?

I have a 70yr old DM client who has bilateral bunionss with fat pad atrophy in the forefoot area and painful submet pressure lesions. She is currently wearing some heavy BMT shoes she got from the US. She finds the rocker bottom very good in alleviating the metatarsal pain and I have taught her to lace up the shoe to accommodate her bunions better. However, she finds the shoes rather heavy to use.

So, does anyone know of some specialised footwear shops in BRisbane area (she is travelling there on holiday from Singapore) that can cater for her needs?

I remember seeing some Diabetica shoes (from years back), that had neoprene top cover around the toe box area and looked quite stylish. Can't recall if they had rocker bottoms. I had these in mind but we don't have these in Singapore. We do have the Darco Gentle step ones with neoprene and deep toe box, but the client found them ugly.

or Athletes foot have InStride footwear some of which have soft tops which are good for accommodating deformities and also have plenty of depth for orthotics etc. They aren't too heavy but don't think they do any with rocker bottoms.
