    Hi
I am a newly qualified pod who is moving out to Aus in December. As part of my UK degree I can supply and dispense medicines - I wondered whether this is transferable to Australia. It seems at first glance that the process is more stringent in Aus - can anyone shed any light on what you can/can't do in Aus on the UK degree?

    Many thanks

    Sonia,

The Australian Regulations allow the prescription of medicines for endorsed podiatrists (though national legislation, not all of the state poisons acts have caught up yet, so podiatrists can't yet prescribe in all states under this endorsement)
1st you will have to show that your undergarduate education is equivalent to that required by PodBA in relation to medicine prescription, this hasn't been tested yet, and not all Australian UG courses are approved yet. If not you would need to complete an approved PG course. Then having less than 7 years experience, you will need to complete a period of supervised practice as is described on the PodBA website.
