I cannot find any article on lateral foot overload in pediatric flexible flatfoot (to my current understanding, it probably sounds less than logical, but they do infrequently walk in our store), would appreciate relevant links or information.

Usually they are 5-year-old children (mostly girls, I do not remember seeing any single boy), approximately 5-12 degrees valgus hindfoot in resting calcaneal stance position, physically very active. Always brought in by their worried parents who had noticed that the child mostly stands and walks on the lateral side of the feet, with excessive lateral heel wear.

I wonder could a valgus hindfoot and excessive lateral weightbearing be a naturally evolved stage in the course of their physiological development (and they will outgrow it? or grow into adults with a subtle cavus foot?) or some kind of intervention may have preceded this (altered?) gait pattern? (e.g. mere speculation: wearing orthotics with agressively high arch support, an intense course of foot exercises aimed at the treatment of flat feet. However the majority of the parents I have talked to said that none of this was the case.)
