What is a 'respect Podiatrist'? Are they

    (a) Podiatrists who hum Aretha Franklin songs while treating people
    (b) Podiatrists who demand to be called by their full appellation at all times
    (c) or is it a typo - and she really wants to go all hip and '60s and become a retrospect Podiatrist, you know, no gloves, sterilising or whatever

    cheers

    Felicity
(sitting on Craig's computer, I'm not really Admin, don't be fooled. Oh yeah, and I'm not really sitting ON his computer, but in front of it - it is on a desk....oh dear, all this information is getting really rather redundant isn't it.......)

Many Congrats Jennifer, all the very best.

I too was a beauty queen although it came as a surprise when I was voted second to the winner in a charity queen competition back in the days when I were a lad. T Rex were top of the charts then. Some of the girls went on to pose demi nude artistic studies for the tabloids ( Sadly I did not get the invitation). The girls then spend a fearful couple of years hoping the pics did not make page three.

CK .... if I can only find that nude picture you sent me of yourself last xmas.....

BTW - I see there was a comment in Barry Block's PM News (that goes to 7000 podiatrists) about this beauty contest. Between PM News' readers and Podiatry Arena visitors voting for her ---- she might win!

Well, we will have to keep trying, as Tineke Oed (Miss Creative Kitchens) is leading the pack at the moment.

AUT Podiatry Student in NZ Wins Big Time!

Dear Friends of the AUT School of Podiatry in NZ,

Well a big thankyou to all our colleagues around the world who voted for the NZ Podiatry student Jennifer Goodwin in the Miss Howick Beauty Contest.

Jennifer has done fantastically well and we are all very proud of her achievements.

Actually I am secretly relieved because she will be able to concentrate on her studies more this semester. I think the judges saw a very beautiful but also a very intelligent young woman and did not want to take her away from an important career and the big contribution she has to make to the NZ health service as a great Podiatrist.

We know that she could have gone on to win the Miss NZ pagent and in true NZ world beating style win the Miss Universe pagent as well..... but hey, that would have been predictable.

As Oscar Wilde once said "The second worst thing in the world is not getting what you desire. And the worst thing is getting what you desire."

So thanks again to all our friends around the world, do come to the Auckland University of Technology for a visit ( we are very proud of our great school) and to Jennifer a great big 'Well Done' from me and my staff and we look forward to seing you on Monday. I have BIG plans for you !

    Greg Coyle
