Hello there,
I'm considering to study podiatry for a career change as a mature-age student, and would like to know more about the course and learning experience from current students or graduates from these two unis.
I've had experience living in both brisbane and adelaide, love both. So it all comes down the course, I would really appreciate if you guys could hopefully let me know what your thoughts are on the following issues...
1) overall learning experience?
2) teaching quality and hands-on learning opportunities?
3) clnical placement expereicne? I gathered that 1000 hours of clinical placements is conducted in yr4 in QUT, and yr 3-4 in UniSA, is it right?
4) how many students (roughly) are enrolled in each year level?
5) how difficult do you" and "your peers" think it is to find a podiatry job? Sometime I think it's better to be sceptical about what's written on the course web.
6) People say our population is ageing, but podiatriy is a tiny profession and I suspect there will be few leaving the workforce, so is it too optimistic to rely on the ageing popultion as the only driving force for new graduates employment? Form what you see, do you think there is or will be an oversupply of podiatrists in 4-5 years time?
Thanks in advance.
