    Dear all

I am presently doing research project looking at the difficulties and errors associated with data gathering. I am focusing on normal gait V's a genu valgum gait and assessing data from force plate, vicon 8 camers system, EMG and extensiometers and comparing differences.
What I have noticed is that defining commonly used clinical terminology in terms of limb coordinates relative to a reference system is quite difficult.
    In particular with Genu Valgum.
The question I want to ask is 'What is Genu Valgum in clinical terms'?
Is it the visualy apparrent valgus position of the knee, which is often the effect of knee flexion and internal rotation and adduction of the hip.
Or is 'True' genu valgum purley abduction of the knee in the way that a valgus calcaneous is eversion of the STJ.

    Cheers Dave
