I'm Scott. I have been a paramedic for 20 years now. I'm married, have two wonderful children and have a TERRIBLE case of plantar fascial problems with my left foot.
I'm here to basically learn as much as I can about the condition, as I am seeeing a podiatrist for my condition. The right foot is perfect now...however, the left is almost unbearable.
I've had multiple Dex/Depo injectI have to workions in the heel...not helping...wear the night splint, strappings I do myself...not helping and have an air cast I wear when I can ( kinda difficult when dragging mangled folks out of cars, ect.)
My physician has referred me to pain management....I have no idea what to expect. I have been taking Hydrocodone/APAP 7.5 325 for the pain, as well as ketorolac. I do all the required therapy with no changes....seems this is looking chronic for me, huh?
My podiatrist attributes a possible rupture of the fascia due to the dex/depo injections.
I guess I ignored the problem too long and attributed the pain just from fatigue....been hurting about 12 years now with constant increase in pain.
Well, that about sums it up.... my S.W.A.G. Scientific Wild A** Guess, or hypothesis is: I'm in it for the long haul because I cant afford surgery, time out of work for rehab due to no disability coverage and am tired of the pain.
Any suggestions would be WONDERFUL! Thanks for your time for a lower medical life form...LOL
