This may be a silly question but where can you find official NHS Scotland policies on instrument sterilisation? As part of my university course I have to complete an audit and I have decided to do it on instrument sterilisation. However, I cannot seem to locate any official policies on the NHS Lothian and NHS Scotland websites.
Any help or advice on locating it would be greatly appreciated.

  2. It might sound silly but why don´t you email or phone NHS Lothian and NHS Scotland I´m sure they will have a massive document of policies for you thats not on the website.

I agree with what Michael is saying.

Also if you have two different trust (one for primary care one for acute care) they may also have different policies.
    ...
Also are you auditing Podiatry only sterilisation or other departments as well? (eg Dental and Gynaecology)

Where I work has 3-4 different policies depending if its Primary/Acute care and depending on the department too. eg Podiatry and Gynaecology use central sterilisation, whilst Dental still use benchtop sterilisation.
