    Hi everyone

I am new to this site and already have a question/need advice. I am a self employed pod doing mainly dom work. I want to buy a drill as my patient case load requires treatment for thickened nails. I have found so many different ones on the market at very different prices! I have used drills in NHS clinics hundreds of times and they are great. Can i expect the same performance from a dom drill or are they just not as good? Can anyone reconmend a price range/brand of drill to go with. Are the cheaper ones ok? It would only be used 2-3 times a day max, couple days a week but with disposable drill caps as i only have single use instruments.
Thank you. Hope to hear from someone. Alex

Hi Alex & :welcome: to Podiatry Arena.

Only my opinion but I would advise a good dust extraction model.

Again, dust extraction. The drills are larger & more expensive but you must consider your health not just economy.

The smaller models I have seen in the past eg. Dremel do not provide dust extraction & from my experience provide less than ideal treatments.

You may find you will get more replies if you repost your question in the practice management area of the Arena.

    Good luck,

    Mandy
